Sourced from the “Mokhinui” vineyard near Young. The vineyard is maintained like a garden and deficit irrigation is employed to keep berry size down to ensure small, even sized berries with a high skin to juice ratio.

De-stemmed and cold soaked for two days to retain bright purple hues. Warm, rapid fermentation with a total of ten skins to achieve a bright, fruit focussed tannin profile. After pressing the wine was racked to barrel for malolactic fermentation followed by sequential rackings to ensure that wine was matured in oak without lees. Matured over twelve months in a combination of old French demi-muids and puncheons.

Mid crimson with purple hints.

Perfumed red and black fruits with intense hints of spice and pepper.

Fine medium bodied pallet full of blackberry, violet, spice and black pepper on soft, fine-grained tannins.  Complemented by fine quality French oak the wine represents a medium bodied style epitomised by the continental climate of the region.

Monitor in cellar through to 2030.
