Nebbiolo from the renowned Grove Estate vineyard in the Hilltops region.  Firm and meaty. Good things when it comes to this grape. Red and black cherries, served dry and dense-enough. Peppercorns. A clip of sweet, creamy oak, but only a clip; this wine is wholeheartedly about the grape, and not the cooper. Excellent length, crackling with spice. Not an especially concentrated wine but a serious style, done well. Will age.

Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front

Sourced from the “Grove Estate” vineyard near Young. The vineyard enjoys a northerly aspect with North/South row orientation to ensure good morning and afternoon sun exposure whilst maintaining protection from the midday sun. The continental climate is ideal for ripening the rich tannin profile of the variety.

De-stemmed, immediately inoculated and fermented at warm temperatures in open fermenters. Initially the must was gently hand plunged building up to regular pigeage during peak of fermentation. After fermentation the wine was immediately pressed to tank before being racked to barrel for malolactic fermentation. The wine was matured for twelve months in old French demi-muids and puncheons on lees.

Medium garnet.

Floral red fruit aromas with hints of rose and cherry.

The complex palate has deep red and black fruits and undertones of dried herbs with hints of fine oak and framed by savoury dense tannins.

Monitor in cellar through to 2030.
